This guide is pretty much the best book for travel in Ghana.
I even found out about places I want to visit that I did not know existed...even after all this time.

The Brandt guide has plenty of smaller maps but if you are like me you would like a full size map.
Well, this is the best one I could find. Mind you, when I lived in Ghana in the 90's I was able to get an even better one...
been looking for a new copy but have yet to find one. Suggestions anyone?

Wow!
This is an intense book for an adult very much interested in kente
and its impact of society. It is part of the UCLA Fowler
Museum of Cultural History Textile Series, No. 2. I cannot
imagine a much more complete study of kente, its history, cultural
impacts, process, and so on. Gratefully the book is accompanied with
great photographs.

The Pride of Ewe Kente
|
This short book full of color images concentrates on Ewe kente. It is a beautiful book and is very detailed. The book discusses the history of the Ewe
people, the history of Ewe kente, provides names for the kente weaving tools, goes through the kente weaving process, names various Ewe
kente cloths, and so on.

Association.

Institution.
- 1999 Notable Social Studies Trade Books for Young People by the

Studies.
It is a simply written book about a kente weaver, his family, the
weaving process and other cultural insights. All of the text is
accompanied by beautiful photography. The explanations are
simple and the reader can even find out what his "day" name
is.

Kente Colors is for the very young reader. It is a short soft
cover book, in which the artwork is more important than the actual
text. All the text and art is theme to the beautiful colors
found in kente.

The Spider Weaver story is the Ashanti story on how kente weaving
started. Regardless of what you believe, the story is fun to
hear and read. This book's artwork is also excellent. This
book is a bit more mature than the Kente Colors book but not by
much...probably more in line with the Master Weaver from Ghana.
